Smartphones have now become the most common necessities of most people, that’s why no matter how much it is we all find a way to buy it. But after buying your smartphone did you ever ask about how to take care of it? How long do you think it will last?

Well It depends upon the status of the buyer most very rich people will never think about it, they even keep on upgrading whenever there is latest released.

But people of a low financial level will always think of it right upon buying therefore, they always bought it together with all the protective accessories for hoping it can last for long.

Motorola was the first one to produce and introduce to the public the handheld mobile phone in the year 1973 which was big and heavy as about 1.1 kg.

The mobile phones then were referred to us as OG or Zero Generation mobile phones while in our era we are now having the advance 3G, 4G, or we even have 5G already.

First cell phone was just having limited specs, and it is mainly for calling it didn’t even have texting.
It was only during 1992 when Vodafone network was making its first ever SMS message with the first text words of MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Anyhow it was very expensive and there was not so many choices because there were only few companies that selling this and it was not easy to purchase it, unlike today you can just buy smartphone straight away if you like it.

It was just lately around late 2000’s when cell phone became popular and just like an ordinary gadget. It was then that cell phone and network companies were offering to the public the purchase with contract payment, they even offered upgrading of phones with a special deal.

Later after upgrading and upgrading some buyer have started to realize the value of money investigating not only the specs but also its quality and durability.
the average trade and the length of use of the device in 2016 was about 2.36 years old. By around 2018, that number increased to 2.8.

But iPhones, were already known for its durability hardware and software and the length of its use going up to about 3 years old.

Most smartphones, on the other hand, have built-in batteries that are difficult to replace or repair.

While some phones have removable batteries that whenever it’s drained or defective you can purchase a replacement. What are usually the complain of most people are the battery of the phone that will drain very fast.

Although specification and features of it is guaranteeing for it to normally last long according to what is specified.
But what happened is that even though it should suppose to be that long, it could not reach because of a lot of background apps that is running and consuming battery life even if you didn’t use the phone.

As long as it’s On, even if it’s in standby mode still the battery is eaten by the applications which are running in the background.

So how to take care of your phone to make it last for long?
First of everything you should buy a shockproof casing as protection for when it falls down because It may happen no matter how careful we are.

Buy a casing which has a hole where you can tie the hand strap as holder for it against falling down. If you are calling or doing picture taking near the window or near in any height where when your phone falls down you can not retrieve anymore and this is what we don’t like to happen.

Never put your phone inside the back pocket of your skirt or trousers because when you’re busy you will forget it and when you sit on the chair you will forget to remove then you will  be sitting on your phone, and this can cause cracks of the LCD.

Always wash your hands every time you touch because sometimes we didn’t know that maybe we have touched some liquid or chemicals that can damage the body of the phone.

Always clean your phone, disinfect it because it is one of the dirtiest gadget in the world which considered as dirty as toilet bowl. If your phone is waterproof then you can wash it so yours is an exception but other than that all phones are very dirty.

Your phone is displaying battery percentage level, if you wish to make it last longer not only 2,3 or more years, don’t charge it when it’s not yet 15 or 20%, and even though it is equipped with a limiter sensor that will automatically stop charging when full, it’s much better if you can unplug it right there and then when it’s full.

One of the best ways to take care of it’s battery is to buy a power bank charger so you don’t need to charge in advance because you have an appointment, so that you will only charge it in a proper time.

 

 

 

Don’t forget to buy the cell phone hand strap because one of the causes of breaking the phone is when you’re lying down on bed and using your phone, the tendency is when you fall asleep you will drop the phone down the floor. So if you have a strap even if it falls down it will only dangle in your hand and not to fall down.

Wherever you are whatever you do, take care of your things and try your best to let them last for long, then you will enjoy the benefit of it.

A phone CPU can be classified as a low-range, mid-range, or high-range. Low-range are less fast compared to mid-range CPUs. You can expect the phones under $100 to have a low-range or mid-range CPU. High-range CPU’s are usually used by expensive phones.

Even after identifying the classification, comparing phone CPUs under the same classification is also not easy. Overexposure to blue light could be hurting your eyes, sleep cycle

From televisions and smartphones to tablets and gaming systems, most of us are glued to our electronic devices.

But is all of that blue light shining from screens harmful to our health?

Melissa Barnett, principal optometrist at the UC Davis Eye Center, talks about the effects of blue light and what you can do to reduce the health risk.

What is blue light?

Blue light is part of the visible light spectrum — what the human eye can see.

Vibrating within the 380 to 500 nanometer range, it has the shortest wavelength and highest energy.

About one-third of all visible light is considered high-energy visible, or “blue,” light. Sunlight is the most significant source of blue light.

Artificial sources of blue light include fluorescent light, compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, LEDs, flat screen LED televisions, computer monitors, smart phones and tablet screens.

Is too much exposure to blue light unhealthy?

Blue-light exposure from screens is small compared to the amount of exposure from the sun.

However, there is concern about the long-term effects of screen exposure especially with excessive screen time and when a screen is too close to the eyes.

How is blue light bad for health?

Since the eye is not good at blocking blue light, nearly all visible blue light passes through the front of the eye (cornea and lens) and reaches the retina, the cells that convert light for the brain to process into images.

Continued exposure to blue light over time could damage retinal cells and cause vision problems such as age-related macular degeneration.

It can also contribute to cataracts, eye cancer and growths on the clear covering over the white part of the eye. According to a  funded by the National Eye Institute, children are more vulnerable than adults because their eyes absorb more blue light from digital devices.

Exposure to blue light before bedtime also can disrupt sleep patterns because it affects when our bodies create melatonin.

Does blue light contribute to digital eye strain?

Yes. Short-wavelength, high-energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light.

Because computer screens and digital devices emit a lot of blue light, this unfocused visual “noise” reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain.

People also tend to blink less when using digital devices, which contributes to dry eye and eye strain.

Other common signs of eye strain include headaches, blurred vision, and neck and shoulder pain.

According to the Vision Council, 27% to 35% of Americans reported experiencing one of these symptoms.

How can I reduce the negative effects of blue light?

• Get blue-light filters for your smartphone, tablet and computer screens.
• The filters prevent much of blue light from these devices from reaching the eyes without affecting the visibility of the display.

• Follow the 20-20-20 rule to reduce digital eye strain. Take a 20-second break to view something 20 feet away every 20 minutes.

• Control lighting and glare on the device screen, set up a good working distance and posture for screen viewing. Be sure that even minor vision problems are properly corrected.

• Talk with your eye doctor about blue light protection and digital device use at your next eye examination.

Smartphone is like a mini computer, which has its own OS, smartphone gives a variety of features which allows advance computing capability, and has advanced hardware, hereby it’s called smartphone, on the other hand an ordinary phone is just a simple mobile gadget (Cell phone) which does not have many features and people mainly use them for calling, texting etc.,

Smart phone has an open platform for apps. In reality the difference can be pretty small as many future phones has advanced features like touch screens, installable apps etc. So in general Smart phones are more advanced, support installable apps, Internet etc., but drawing the exact line can be hard. Even among smart phones there is difference between the smartness. Nowadays we have Android and IOS and both of them are of smartphones. Only a smart phone can have a user installable apps that reacts when a call is received and then does some actions like fetching the caller name from Internet.

Smart phones have Operating systems, usually Android, iOS or Windows, but there are more coming with new companies. Because of OS it has many functions and application normal phone can’t do since cell phones can usually call, send messages but they can’t be modular with installing apps for weather predicting or games.

What is in the Ordinary Phones or Cell Phones?

Ordinary phones don’t have as many sensors as a smart phone like auto brightness, compass, GPS, etc

Ordinary phones are limited in their software features but on smartphones you can expand the features by installing various apps to perform functions you need. Like you can stream music, alter theme, edit photos etc.

ordinary phones have a weaker hardware like processor, SoC, RAM/ROM powering the phone compared to a smartphone.

Even if you close that particular app after a while, Android will not remove it from the memory (I mean RAM), so that you can recall it faster at any time you want. The processes that stay on RAM even after the closing is called background processes.

Here’s what you need to know about smartphone memory, and why 4GB does the trick in most cases.

Adding more RAM is an easy way for a manufacturer to make a device look better. A bigger number must mean it’s better, right? While that’s generally true, finding the right amount of RAM possesses a unique problem in the smartphone world. How much is “enough”? The short answer is that you should look for a baseline of at least 4GB for a phone. The long answer is a bit more complicated.

First, a quick note on how RAM works: RAM, or memory as it’s sometimes called, is where your phone stores information when it’s not using it, but might in the near future. RAM is a lot faster than the internal storage you have on your phone, but you don’t have as much of it. Think of it like moving something from your refrigerator  to your table. It’s easier to grab something when it’s in arm’s reach, but you can’t keep everything on your table, so you need a place to store items when they’re not in use. Let’s say you’re playing a game on your phone, but then you get a phone call. There’s a very good chance that, once your phone call is done, you’ll go back to that game. When you answer the call, your phone keeps the game loaded in memory. As soon as you end the call and re-open the game, it should pop right back up exactly where you left off. You don’t need to reload the entire app, or lose your progress. It’s just there, and that’s how it is.

Once again a Cell Phone and a Smartphone can be used interchangeably to define a phone, however, a smartphone definitely has some more characteristics over a normal cell phone. A smartphone can be called a cell phone but all cell phones cannot be termed as smartphone.

Mobile has a general meaning, whichever is movable easily can be called as mobile, just like mobility which means simple and easy to carry. Coming to Phones, we can categorize it into just a Basic phone.

For our better understanding, the phone which is easy to carry is called mobile phone, and later after witnessing lot many evolution in mobile phone industry, we are now using smartphones.
